Real Marseille soap from Savonnerie du Midi

Did you know that Extra Pur soap is made according to a recipe that dates back to the Middle Ages? It is produced by Savonnerie du Midi (founded in 1894), one of the oldest soap factories in Marseille. It is one of the last four to produce traditional Marseille soap using the historic "Marseille process." Thanks to the partnership with Lesseau, these renowned soaps are now also available for use in Lesseau soap dispensers.

The Extra Pur Soapy Bar contains only 100% natural ingredients:

Sodium Palmate : gently cleanses your skin.
Sodium Palm Kernelate : a mild cleanser that respects your skin.
Glycerin : a natural moisturiser that hydrates your skin.

This pure formula creates a soap that thoroughly cleanses your skin without drying it out. No unnecessary additives, just the power of nature.

Unique production process of Extra Pur soap

What makes Marseille soap so special is its unique production process, known as the "kettle process." The soap is boiled in large kettles with a capacity of 10 to 12 tons, where the vegetable oils are mixed with water and soda to create soap. The resulting paste is repeatedly washed with water and saltwater. It is this washing that ensures we produce a soap we call extra pure.

Hypoallergenic with 100% natural ingredients

This Marseille soap is made entirely from plant-based oils and contains no perfumes, dyes, or synthetic additives. Only 100% natural ingredients. Its hypoallergenic formula makes it suitable for a wide range of skin types. And because it's biodegradable (even without plastic packaging!), it's also an eco-friendly choice that doesn't harm the planet.

With Lesseau, you don't waste hand sanitiser, refilling is easy, and the surface stays clean and the material isn't damaged. Our Soapy Bars are available in various packaging and varieties.

Lesseau soap is made with natural ingredients and contains 0-2% water, resulting in less waste and less water transport. Furthermore, we don't use single-use plastics, and our soap is easily refillable. Bar soap softens and moisturizes your skin, while liquid soap can often be drying. Liquid soap often contains a lot of water and chemicals and is packaged in plastic bottles, which creates more waste and environmental impact.

Our soap bars are cruelty-free, plastic-free, 100% vegan, and made primarily with natural ingredients.
